Summary
The Registrar’s Office manages the collections by cataloguing acquisitions, maintaining records, conducting inventories, and condition reporting. Another component includes supervising storage, and arranging packing, shipping, and insurance for loans to and from the museum.
This internship is an opportunity to assist the registrars and preparators with: record keeping, inventory and storage projects, data entry, and image management. Two primary projects for this summer include assisting with the museum’s annual framed inventory and organizing and digitizing object files related to the Scaife Dollhouse collection. Interns will develop essential museum skills in database management, condition reporting, and inventory procedures.

Eligibility
During the summer, Brandywine Museum of Art seeks undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in American art and the Brandywine Valley’s arts and cultural community for experiential learning opportunities.
For this internship, an art history, museum studies, or studio art background is required; excellent organizational skills and basic computer literacy are essential.
Compensation
$3,500 stipend
