Summary

Museum Education Interns gain meaningful paid experience with a focus on museum education and interpretation. Interns assist in the planning, preparation, and implementation of museum programs and events, including educational summer camps and history events, and support museum and gallery operations.

Key Details

This is a temporary position that may be worked throughout the year on a full-time basis, depending on the needs of the town, but will not exceed six months in length (or 1,040 hours, whichever comes first). This is strictly temporary employment.

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Anyone interested in the museum field is welcome to apply. Those enrolled in a related degree program (history, art, museum studies, environmental studies, education, etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • One (1) year of experience working with the public, including public speaking, customer service, or teaching groups of children and adults, preferably in a museum or educational setting, is preferred.
  • A valid Colorado Driver’s License that meets the Town of Windsor’s standards and ability to maintain throughout employment.

Compensation

$16.30–$17.52 per hour

The Town of Windsor Museums comprises the Windsor History Museum; the Art & Heritage Center; and the Historic Halfway Homestead, which is currently under development.
