Summary
As a PAAM Collections Intern, you will be facilitating the digitization and database management of our Permanent Collection. This will involve taking photographs of artwork, editing photographs and uploading them to our database, and other database management and research projects.
Upon completion of this internship, you will have gained:
- Hands-on experience handling museum artwork and doing object photography
- Workflow experience of a digitization project
- Experience with museum database and research standards and best practices
- Opportunities for artwork & artist research and digital exhibition curation from the PAAM collection in your area of interest
Key Details
The summer internship program runs for 10 weeks, with a preferred term running from June 8 through August 14. Interns will have a 30-hour weekly commitment, which can be fulfilled with either four 8-hour days or five 6-hour days per week.

Eligibility
Qualifications:
- An interest in art, art education, and/or museum collections
- Creativity and self-motivation
- Ability to take direction and ask clarifying questions when necessary
- Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite (PhotoShop and/or Lightroom)
- Experience with object photography and/or using a DSLR camera
- Art handling experience
Compensation
$19 per hour
About
PAAM was established in 1914 by a group of artists and townspeople to build a permanent collection of works by artists of outer Cape Cod, and to exhibit art that would allow for unification within the community.
