Summary
The Collections Stewardship Intern will work closely with professional staff in the Anchorage Museum’s Collections Department, which includes Art & Cultural Belongings, Archives, and Library teams. The intern will gain foundational experience in collections care, museum registration, and collections management policies and procedures.
This preservation-focused internship emphasizes core museum competencies and offers meaningful insight into how collecting institutions function collaboratively across departments.

Eligibility
We welcome applications from students with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences. This internship is a strong fit for individuals who bring:
- Current enrollment as an incoming or outgoing sophomore, junior, or senior at an accredited college or university
- Interest in museums, art, history, cultural heritage, or collections-based work
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working carefully with objects
- Good hand skills and ability to follow handling and safety protocols
- Curiosity, responsibility, and a willingness to learn
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
Students from groups traditionally underrepresented in museums are encouraged to apply, though all eligible applicants will be considered equally.
