Summary

The CoLab Education Intern will work alongside Museum educators and facilitators in CoLab (Collaborative Laboratory)-a dynamic, hands‑on space that encourages experimentation, problem‑solving, and creative expression through tools, materials, and ideas inspired by the North.

This internship focuses on developing facilitation skills in an informal education setting while supporting the design and testing of new activities for public use. Interns will be introduced to inquiry‑based educational approaches and foundational learning theories while building practical skills in program development and visitor engagement.

Key Details

  • Schedule: 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, for 8 weeks
  • Duration: June–August 2026 (start and end dates flexible)
Deadline: May 1, 2026

Eligibility

We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences. This internship is a strong fit for individuals who bring:

  • Aged 16 or older at the start of the internship
  • Interest in education and hands‑on S.T.E.A.M. learning
  • Enjoyment of working with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn
  • Reliability and comfort working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Compensation

$2,750 stipend
