Summary
The Public Art Accelerator Intern is a key support role that enables the efficient facilitation of the Public Art Accelerator program and supports the curatorial process for other annual programs and Triennial 2028 through routine operational and arts administrative tasks, as well as light curatorial research. The Intern is a part-time, 10-hour-per-week position for a 6-month term (mid-August—mid-February), which may be extended. They must be available on Wednesday afternoons during this term to support the facilitation of workshops, which typically run from 2-5 pm. The Public Art Accelerator Intern reports to the Assistant Curator and works with the Office & Experience Coordinator and Events & Volunteer Associate to help ensure the Triennial’s vision of an open public art city.

Experience and Qualifications
- 1 year background in art history, arts administration, or an office environment required
- Demonstrated knowledge and interest in contemporary art and public art
- General interest in creative justice, community-based public programming, curating, and art education
- Proven interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively
- Must be comfortable with G-Suite
About
We began in 2015 as Now + There, an artist-run non-profit connecting free, contemporary public art to Boston’s communities. After nine years and 45 projects, we became the Boston Public Art Triennial (The Triennial) and successfully mounted Boston’s first-ever citywide public art exhibition, Triennial 2025, from May 22 through October 31, 2025. This ambitious, collaborative event, created in partnership with over 75 organizations, showcased 25 extraordinary artworks and 115 life-affirming art experiences, attracting more than 225,000 visitors. All for free.
